Dear Friends,
If you’re on our page, you may be reading this because you care about us—and for that, I am truly grateful.
I wanted to share a little history about us.
Jay Phillips originally opened this location in June of 1983. Back then, we had a very small menu: a few sandwiches, pizza, our famous stuffed pizza, salad, and pasta. Our menu has since more than doubled, offering something for everyone! Everything is made fresh to order. Our lite and ka-bob veggies are fresh-cut; our pizza toppings are as well. Our dough is made fresh daily; our sauces are made in-house. If you have had our food, you know how amazing it is!
I joined the business about 38 years ago, and here I am, still today.
Years ago, Jay suffered a disabling stroke and is no longer able to be at the restaurant. Today, I run the store alongside our amazing staff and four of my children.
Like many small, family-owned businesses, we are facing some real challenges. There are many new restaurants opening around us. It’s not that we see them as the competition or don’t want them to succeed. We understand that everyone has a place in our community. But when every new restaurant takes away just a few customers, those small numbers add up very quickly for a business like ours.
I’m not posting this on other sites because, honestly, I don’t want the negativity. I simply want to speak directly to the people who have supported us for so many years.
We have been here for more than 43 years, putting everything we have into providing Quality, Value, and Service. We would never have made it this far without all of you.
We have also been trying desperately to hire additional help. It has been incredibly difficult to find people who want to work, even part-time. We offer competitive pay and a free meal, but finding dependable, experienced help has still been a struggle.
Because of that, I am currently working open to close, five days a week, to make sure we continue to keep our commitment to you—Quality, Value, and Service. On the other two days, if I’m lucky, I only work about eight hours.
Running a small family-owned business is extremely challenging. At the end of the day, all we hope to do is cover our payroll and expenses, take care of our employees, and keep the doors open.
That’s really all I’m asking for: the opportunity to survive another 10 years doing what I love—serving all of you.
For more than 43 years, you have been a part of our story. Every pizza, every sandwich, every order, every visit, and every word of support has meant more than you probably realize. It is just us! No investors, no backers, just us and your support!
Thank you for keeping us here. Thank you for believing in us. And most of all, thank you for being part of our family.
Hope to see you soon! We want to be here for you!
With gratitude,
Kris
