☀️🚤 Labor Day weekend on the Sass — aka “summer is over”… says who?! 🚤☀️

Apparently Labor Day weekend is supposed to be the unofficial closeout of summer. Yeahhhh… we’re not participating in that nonsense. 😂 Around here, I’m considering this more of a midsummer-ish celebration, because we still have sunshine, boats on the river, cold drinks flowing, live music cranking and a whole lot of summer left in us.

And would you look at that forecast?! Mother Nature apparently understands the assignment. ☀️🙌

We’re kicking off five straight days of fun starting Thursday night with Acoustic Karaoke with Bubby & John. Whether you can actually sing or simply become incredibly talented after a few cocktails, grab the mic and give us what you’ve got. 😂🎤

Then Friday, The Everafter takes over from 6–10 PM, officially kicking this holiday weekend into high gear with live music on the Sass, cold drinks and one gorgeous September evening by the water. 🎸🍹

And then comes Saturday… and Saturday is going to be a big one. 🚤🎆

At 5 PM, it’s the Sassafras Boat Parade! Boats, boats, floating contraptions and more boats… definitely some questionable engineering decisions, and quite frankly… who the hell knows what you’re going to see coming down this river. 😂

The after party, prize handouts and celebration are right here at the View! Yes, there will be prizes, there will be bragging rights, and there will absolutely be some memories made.

Then we roll straight into the Leroy Burks Band from 7–11 PM, and because apparently live music, a boat parade and a packed river weren’t enough for one Saturday… we’re ending the night with fireworks! 🎆🎆🎆

Sunday we’re still nowhere near finished because Jackson Station Band will be rocking the hill from 6–10 PM! Grab a drink, claim your spot, kick back and enjoy another Sunday Funday overlooking the Sassafras. 🎶☀️

And then there’s Labor Day Monday. 🍗

Oh yes… the Wing Lab will be open. We just have to figure out what kind of ridiculous creation Dave should concoct to close this five-day s**t show out properly. So start throwing out those wing flavor suggestions because if there was ever a Monday deserving of something a little extra… this is it.

And before anyone comes for me over the graphic… 😂 I take absolutely no responsibility for any AI-enhanced body makeovers that may have occurred to our musicians, nor can I explain why the Wing Lab wings look suspiciously like saucy corn on the cob. 🌽🍗 Apparently AI has decided everyone needed a glow-up and our chickens needed to become vegetables. Humans aren’t perfect and neither is AI… but you get the damn point. 😂

So buckle up, buttercups.

Five straight days of boats, bands, booze, karaoke, a boat parade, fireworks, suspiciously corn-shaped wings, sunshine and one hell of a Labor Day weekend on the Sass.

They say Labor Day is the unofficial end of summer.

Summer isn’t over until we say it’s over.

And judging by this lineup…

You know what one of the most exhausting parts of this business is?

It’s not the staffing.
It’s not the food orders.
It’s not the long hours.
It’s not even running two restaurants.

It’s the Negative Nancys and the completely unsolicited Social Media Advisory Board who feel the need to tell me how I should run my business, write my posts, market my restaurants, use my sense of humor, or apparently… exist on Facebook. 😂

So I thought I’d offer a little public service announcement:

If you find yourself reading EVERY SINGLE THING I post and feeling an uncontrollable urge to tell me how much you dislike it, how I should have worded it, what I shouldn’t have said, how offended you are, or how YOU would run my business differently…

Because here’s the thing: I’m probably not changing.

Sometimes I’m sarcastic. Sometimes I’m inappropriate. Sometimes I say f**k. Sometimes I make fun of myself, my restaurants, my staff, a dead picnic table or whatever other ridiculous thing is happening that particular day.

And thankfully, MOST of you understand the humor, laugh along with me, show up, eat our food, drink our cocktails and have been supporting this crazy adventure every step of the way.

Life is entirely too short to voluntarily follow a restaurant page that pi**es you off.

Welp… we’ve had a casualty.

One of our picnic table benches has officially decided it could no longer carry the load. And while we mourn its untimely passing, we’d also like to use this unfortunate incident as a little public service announcement…

Trim the waistline. Reduce the load. Save a bench. 😂

Luckily, we have plenty of carb-free and low-carb options packed with protein—which is key to maintaining muscle, supporting a healthy immune system and, apparently, maintaining a trim enough figure that you don’t take out the patio furniture.

There are nights on the water… and then there are nights like this. 🌙✨

The sky started out looking like a bowl of blue sorbet — soft, dreamy, almost too pretty to be real — and then slowly faded into this…

Dock lights glowing. Boats tucked in for the night. String lights twinkling across the creek. Reflections dancing on the water. And the View glowing in the distance.

There’s something about a marina after dark that pictures don’t quite capture. The daytime hustle disappears, everything gets quiet, and suddenly you remember exactly why you love being on the water.

From the Sassafras River to Worton Creek,
two Views, two waters… and both pretty damn hard to beat. 💙⚓️. 💙⚓️✨
