One minute you're dreaming about a dog park, cold drinks and creating a place for Frederick's dog-loving community to hang out...
The next minute you're pulling w**ds at the property you just bought. 😂

This was one of our first weekends at the future home of Wagbar Frederick — Kimberly getting to work while Willie assumed her new position as Director of Landscape Supervision. 🐶

There's still a whole lot of work ahead of us, but these little moments are part of the story too.

Before the leash comes off, there's a little homework. 🐶📋

We've gotten quite a few questions about what helps keep Wagbar's off-leash play safe — and we're glad you're asking!

Dogs using Wagbar Frederick's off-leash area will have vaccination requirements, including Rabies, DHPP and Bordetella.

And once they're in the yard, they won't simply be turned loose and left to figure things out. Our team supervising the off-leash area will be trained in dog behavior — including recognizing when play may be heading in the wrong direction and safely intervening when needed.

Because the goal isn't just play.

It's safe, happy play. 🐾💛

The first time we unlocked the door to Wagbar Frederick. 🔑🐾

We had just closed on the property, Kimberly was taking it all in, and we were trying to imagine everything this empty building could someday become.

She apparently thought we bought her a really big house. 😂🐶

There's a LOT of work ahead, but every story has to start somewhere.

This was ours. 💛🐾

The pups get room to run, play, sniff around and make new four-legged friends while their humans kick back, grab a drink and/or bite to eat, make a few friends of their own and enjoy the whole experience right alongside them. 🐶🍻

PAWS CROSSED WORKED! 🐾🥳

We got the YES!

Tuesday night, Wagbar Frederick received the zoning approval we needed to keep moving forward at 925 N. East Street! ✅

There’s still plenty of work ahead — but this was one BIG box we needed to check, and it feels pretty darn good to check it. 💛

Hi Frederick! 👋 We figured it was probably time to introduce ourselves.

We're Kimberly and Michael — and that's Wilhelmina, who clearly believes this entire Wagbar Frederick thing is being built specifically for her. 😂🐾

We're the local faces behind Wagbar Frederick, and bringing this concept to our hometown has been something we've been working toward for quite a while.

We love what makes Frederick Frederick — the people, the local businesses, the sense of community and, of course, all the dogs. Our goal isn't simply to open another business here. We want to create a place where dogs can play, people can relax, friendships can happen and the community can come together.

There's still a journey ahead before we can open those gates, and we're excited to bring you along for it.

Thanks for following us this early. We can't wait to meet you — and your dogs. ❤️🐾

At Wagbar, the dogs aren't waiting at home for you to get back from happy hour.

They're the reason you went.

Off-leash play. Drinks. Friends. Fresh air. And probably at least one dog who decides your lap belongs to them now.
