Continuing my series of introducing some of the incredible people and businesses I've had the privilege of meeting here in Forsyth, today I'd like to recognize Treats With Lenise.
Lenise Leknes and her husband, Doug, have created a wonderful little bakery filled with French- and Latin-inspired desserts. I'll admit, I've had more than a few of my "lunches" there. From cheesecakes and brownies to macarons and cookies, everything is made with passion. And her vegan, gluten-free cake? I know what you're thinking...but trust me, it's one of my personal favorites.
What I admire most, though, is Lenise herself. She has a huge heart, loves sharing her knowledge through baking classes, and is always looking for ways to give back to our community.
We've even had the opportunity to collaborate at Grits Cafe, where she created an incredible French Vidalia onion focaccia that our guests absolutely loved.
Now she's beginning an exciting new chapter by opening her own restaurant in the former Pickled Okra location, and I couldn't be happier for her.
Lenise, thank you for your friendship, your talent, and everything you're bringing to Forsyth. I can't wait to watch your next adventure unfold.
I actually think ending with "I can't wait to watch your next adventure unfold." is stronger than simply saying "I can't wait to see your future grow." It feels more personal and leaves readers excited to follow her journey.
