🌿 THIS FOR THAT THURSDAY — Graceful Roots Edition 🌿
🍦 STORE-BOUGHT ICE CREAM ➡️ HOMEMADE ICE CREAM
This Thursday, we’re swapping a carton from the freezer aisle for an old-fashioned favorite—homemade vanilla ice cream! 🤍
One of the best things about making ice cream at home is knowing exactly what goes into it. Many store-bought varieties contain stabilizers, emulsifiers, artificial flavors, or other ingredients used to improve texture and shelf life. Homemade lets YOU choose the ingredients and control the sweetness.
✨ WHY MAKE IT HOMEMADE?
🍦 Simple, recognizable ingredients
🥛 You choose the quality of your milk and cream
🤍 Control how much sugar goes into your recipe
🌿 No artificial flavoring when you use real vanilla
🍓 Easily add fresh fruit, nuts, chocolate, or other favorites
👨👩👧👦 And making ice cream together is just plain FUN!
🍦 EASY HOMEMADE VANILLA ICE CREAM
Ingredients:
• 2 cups heavy whipping cream
• 1 cup whole milk
• ¾ cup sugar
• 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
• Pinch of salt
Directions:
Whisk the milk, sugar, vanilla, and salt until the sugar dissolves. Stir in the heavy cream.
Pour into your ice cream maker and churn according to its directions, usually about 20–30 minutes. Enjoy it soft-serve style right away, or transfer it to a freezer-safe container and freeze for 2–4 hours for a firmer scoop. 🍨
🌿 Graceful Roots Tip: Once you have a good vanilla base, the possibilities are endless! Add fresh peaches, blueberries, strawberries, chocolate chips, crushed cookies, or homemade caramel.
And if you don’t have an ice cream maker, you can still make homemade ice cream—we’ll share a no-churn version too! 😉
Sometimes the best recipes are the ones that remind us that simple really can be better. 🏡🤍
