We hope you don't need it, but it's nice to have it on hand if you do! Located in the new Mercantile & Co., located in the Edison The Edison Depot: Restaurant, Coffee & Farmer's Market
🌿 Now that the weather finally seems to be breaking and we can get outside and WORK… if you’re anything like us, poison ivy might unfortunately be somewhere in your future.
One thing we hear all the time is:
“Can I use drawing salve for poison ivy?”
While drawing salve is great to keep on hand for things like splinters, bug bites, minor skin irritations, and little homestead mishaps… it really isn’t the best option for poison ivy.
Why?
Because poison ivy reactions are caused by oils (urushiol) that bond to your skin. Drawing salve doesn’t actually remove those oils once they’ve attached.
That’s where our three poison ivy products come in
🌿 Poison Ivy Wash
Helps remove outdoor oils from the skin after exposure.
🧼 Poison Ivy Soap
Great for cleansing irritated skin and helping wash away lingering oils.
💨 Anti-Itch Spray
Designed to help soothe itching, irritation, and discomfort from outdoor skin irritations.
Together, these products work much better as a complete poison ivy support system than drawing salve alone.
BUT… don’t worry — we DO still have our Drawing Salve in stock because it’s still one of our favorite go-to products for everyday homestead life. I just used it over the weekend on a splinter!
Stop by the Edison Depot and check them out before poison ivy season really kicks into gear! 🌿
