Dear Friends, and Family of the Peanut Barrel,
As many of you have probably noticed by now, the families that own 2/3 of the parking lot behind the Peanut Barrel have decided to close their portion of the lot. To say that their decision is "frustrating to say the least” does not come close to describing how I feel, and how I know many of you feel. This decision will no-doubt hurt the 500-block businesses, staff, families, and the community, without a project even in place. I’ve tried to convey this to the families that own the lot, the developers, the broker, and the City. But alas, here we are. My staff and I are hoping that you all will still choose to come visit us and all of the 500 block businesses, even though parking may feel inconvenient at times. The city-owned portion of the lot behind us is still open, as well as the Bailey Street garage on the other side of Bailey St. from our lot. There is also the Division Street garage ("hamster cage”, "colorful garage”, whatever you want to call it!) that is less than a block to the West of us! We really hope to see you all soon as we navigate this new adventure together. Thank you for your past support, and we hope to continue to see you in the future!! - Mike
