Just 8 years ago this week, Durango was making headlines as the 416 fire raged, with our town in its path. This was a scary time; a bad summer could have been curtains for my new storefront. It was really reassuring when Sen. Micheal Bennet, along with our other electeds, showed up in flesh to advocate on behalf of our area. Thanks to the rapid response on all fronts, our town was spared. I’ve watched Michael Bennet work tirelessly for Colorado for many years. He’s a smart, empathetic man who just wants to do a good job for our state whether he gets credit for it or not. I endorse his run for Governor and look forward to serving him up another fresh mint chocolate chip scoop on his next swing through town.
