1911 → 2026 ✨

New era, same iconic address.

From the Denver Tramway Co. to The Nickel, this corner of downtown Denver has always been a place to gather, connect, and make memories.

The story continues. 🍽️

Long before it became home to Hotel Teatro and The Nickel, this building was the headquarters of the Denver Tramway Company — the hub of Denver’s streetcar system. It housed the company’s offices and served as the place where passengers boarded the trolleys that connected the growing city.

Back then, a streetcar ride cost just five cents — a nickel. That’s where our restaurant gets its name.

Today, Hotel Teatro honors the building’s history while welcoming guests from around the world, and The Nickel carries that story forward with seasonal farm-to-table cuisine, handcrafted cocktails, and one of Denver’s most beautiful dining rooms.

Some stories are meant to be preserved. This one is meant to be experienced.
