10 years ago, we fired up our first oven in Dayton, Ohio with a pretty simple idea: bring a little bit of Naples to the Midwest. 🍕🔥 4,750 miles from Naples, Italy, we’ve been making our own kind of Midwesternly Neapolitan pizza. Same technique, same respect for the craft, just a little closer to home.

Since then, we’ve fired up 12 ovens at 800°, putting in more than 80,000 hours of live-fire cooking. That’s a whole lot of dough, flames, charred crusts, and probably a whole lot of pizza eaten along the way. But the biggest part of our story has never really been the ovens. It’s the people.

Today, 280+ crew members are part of Old Scratch Pizza. And our very first employee, hired on August 2, 2016, is still here 10 years later. ❤️ From one Dayton pizza shop to everything we’ve become today, it’s been 10 years of fire, food, people, and a whole lot of love. And somehow… we’re just getting started.

10 years. 4,750 miles. 12 ovens. 80,000+ hours of live fire. 280+ people. One very big pizza story.

Some people have been here since the beginning. Andy is one of them.

From opening Old Scratch Pizza’s first location in Dayton to growing into four stores with more on the way, he’s been part of the journey every step of the way.

A lot has changed since those early days. We’ve learned, grown, and gotten better along the way, but we’ve never lost sight of what mattered from the start: great food, attention to detail, and most importantly, doing it for the people.

We’re proud to be homegrown in Dayton, and even prouder of what we’re still building together.

What does our Downtown Dayton crew order? 🍕 👀

After spending so much time around the menu, our team has definitely developed some favorites. So we asked a few of them to share their go-to pairings.

Connor loves our Vodka Pesto + Scratch Bread. A savory favorite with a little something extra on the side. Connor knows a good pairing when he finds one.

Derrika’s pick is Artichoke Pesto Special + Caesar Salad. A little rich, a little bright, and a whole lot of flavor. And yes, you can absolutely make room for a salad. 😉

Kyia keeps it classic with Dayton Pizza + Caesar Salad. Sometimes you just know what you like, and this combination never misses. It’s a classic pairing that will last for a lifetime.

Quinn goes for Prosciutto Arugula + Scratch Bread because sometimes you want your pizza to feel a little fancy, but you’re still absolutely ordering bread. Quinn gets it.

And Alek? Chicken Bacon Ranch + Burrata. Why choose one favorite when you can have two? One is dinner, one is “everyone better try this.”
