10 years ago, we fired up our first oven in Dayton, Ohio with a pretty simple idea: bring a little bit of Naples to the Midwest. šš„ 4,750 miles from Naples, Italy, weāve been making our own kind of Midwesternly Neapolitan pizza. Same technique, same respect for the craft, just a little closer to home.
Since then, weāve fired up 12 ovens at 800°, putting in more than 80,000 hours of live-fire cooking. Thatās a whole lot of dough, flames, charred crusts, and probably a whole lot of pizza eaten along the way. But the biggest part of our story has never really been the ovens. Itās the people.
Today, 280+ crew members are part of Old Scratch Pizza. And our very first employee, hired on August 2, 2016, is still here 10 years later. ā¤ļø From one Dayton pizza shop to everything weāve become today, itās been 10 years of fire, food, people, and a whole lot of love. And somehow⦠weāre just getting started.
10 years. 4,750 miles. 12 ovens. 80,000+ hours of live fire. 280+ people. One very big pizza story.
