🌊 Meet our PS Artist of the month! Patricia Waterman is a lifelong artist, surfer, and former professor who created the 3D Modeling & Animation Program at Santa Ana College and UC Irvine Extension. Inspired by the joy, wonder, and freedom of life in and around the ocean, her paintings celebrate the energy, playfulness, and beauty of the California coast. 🏄‍♀️☀️

Rather than depicting the ocean’s literal appearance, Patricia explores the feeling of being in the water—the exhilaration of riding a wave, the warmth of sunlight on the water, the playfulness of marine life, and our connection to the natural world. Through vibrant color and movement, she hopes to evoke the energy, optimism, and freedom that inspire her life in and around the ocean. Her art will be displayed the whole month of July! Come check it out 🎨🌊💙

Meet our Artist of the Month – Aaron Johnson

Born and raised in the vibrant coastal community of Laguna Beach, California, Aaron Johnson developed a deep appreciation for art and creativity from an early age. Growing up just steps from the ocean, he found endless inspiration in the natural beauty, energy, and culture of the Southern California coast.

Aaron studied painting and ceramics while attending Laguna Beach High School, where he was honored with the school’s Fine Arts Award. This achievement earned him a scholarship to the Art Institute of Southern California and helped launch his formal artistic education. He later attended the California College of Arts and Crafts, where he majored in ceramics and further refined his artistic vision.

Working across a variety of mediums, including ceramics, painting, and mosaic art, Aaron creates pieces that reflect both the power of the ocean and a sense of spirituality and connection. His lifelong passion for surfing and skimboarding has greatly influenced his work, inspiring compositions that capture the movement, beauty, and rhythm of coastal life.

Today, Aaron continues to create distinctive mosaics, ceramic works, and paintings that blend natural elements, found objects, and spiritual themes. Through his art, he seeks to transform everyday materials into meaningful works that celebrate the ocean, creativity, and the unique coastal environment that has shaped his life and artistic journey.
