We’re excited to recognize Bryan Garcia from Big Shucks Oyster Bar – Mockingbird as our Manager of the Quarter!
Bryan Garcia’s Shucks journey began in early 2020 when he joined the team as a busser. After just two weeks, he moved to the counter and continued working his way up. About two years later, he became a Shift Manager, and for the past two years, he has been a full-time Manager. His growth is a great example of what hard work, consistency, and a willingness to learn can accomplish.
A Dallas native and North Mesquite High School graduate, Bryan describes himself as funny and outgoing, although he admits he can be a little shy sometimes. Outside of work, he loves spending time with his family, going out to dinner, and being outdoors. He’s a big soccer fan—cheering for Monterrey and Barcelona—and enjoys playing soccer himself and competing in FIFA video game tournaments. He also taught himself to play bass guitar simply because he thought it looked fun! But one of his favorite things to do is dance with his one-year-old daughter.
When it comes to food, Bryan says it’s hard to beat his grandfather’s cooking, especially his pasta and menudo. He’s also a fan of Fito’s taco shop in Dallas.
What Bryan enjoys most about working at Shucks is the people. He describes his team as welcoming and respectful and says they’re like a family who always has each other’s backs. He also gives a special shoutout to Diana and Jimmy for helping him grow along the way. Bryan is the kind of manager who sees something that needs to be done and takes care of it without having to be asked—and that hardworking attitude is just one of the many reasons he earned this recognition.
Congratulations, Bryan! We’re proud to have you as part of the Shucks family!
