OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM KAFFÉ 101
Regarding Ownership and Unauthorized Sale of Business Property
We would like to address a serious matter that has recently been brought to our attention regarding the ownership and sale of Kaffé 101 property.
In 2019, Roxanne Steward and Teka Brown purchased Kaffé 101 from Bandon Christian Fellowship. Since that purchase, Roxanne and Teka have been the sole owners of Kaffé 101.
To be absolutely clear, Wayne Steward (Roxanne’s husband) and Kyle Brown (Tekas ex-husband) have never been owners of Kaffé 101, nor have they been authorized to sell, transfer, or dispose of business-owned property without the owners’ consent.
Following the recent closure of Kaffé 101, we have learned that certain business assets may have been sold without our knowledge or authorization. These items belong to Kaffé 101 and are documented in the business’s financial and tax records.
We are asking anyone who has purchased or received Kaffé 101 equipment, furnishings, or other business property from anyone other than Roxanne Steward or Teka Brown to contact us immediately.
Please understand that purchasing an item from someone who did not have the legal authority to sell it does not necessarily establish rightful ownership, even if the purchase was made in good faith.
Our goal is to identify and recover any business property that was transferred without authorization and resolve these matters as fairly and professionally as possible.
However, if these matters cannot be resolved voluntarily, we are prepared to pursue appropriate legal action to protect and recover the assets of Kaffé 101.
We appreciate the cooperation and understanding of our community as we work through this unfortunate situation.
Roxanne Steward & Teka Brown
Owners, Kaffé 101
