Take a moment of silence today to honor these lives lost. They will forever and ever remain in our hearts.

Today, as America celebrates our 250th Birthday, we also pause to remember one of the darkest days in Texas history.

One year ago today, devastating floods claimed 139 lives across Central Texas from Kerrville and the Hill Country to communities beyond.

Today we remember Reese Manchaca of Montgomery County and every life lost in this tragedy. Their memories will forever remain in our hearts.

As we celebrate our nation’s 250th anniversary, let us also pause to honor those we lost and pray for the families and communities still carrying the weight of that day.

May God bless the families who continue to grieve, the first responders who answered the call, the great State of Texas, and the United States of America.
