Dear BesTeas,

On Friday, January 30th, Perfectly Posh: A Boutique Tearoom will be closed as we take a stand, a quiet, resolute pause, with those across our country saying “NO” to fascism, racism, and the violent enforcement actions carried out by ICE and federal agencies that have shaken hearts and communities nationwide.

As tea drinkers, we know that what happens over a cup transcends warmth and flavor, it invites reflection, connection, and community. This Friday, we encourage you to take a moment with your own cup, breathe deeply, and use that space to affirm dignity, justice, and human worth.

📚 One of our favorite books, and one that has deeply shaped our perspective, is A Taste of Power by Elaine Brown. In it, Brown shares her journey as a Black woman rising to leadership in the Black Panther Movement, a story of resilience, courage, and unwavering commitment to justice. We recommend it as a companion on this day of reflection and resolve.

We will resume our regular service Saturday, January 31st, with hearts bolstered by community, care, and the ongoing work toward a fairer, more compassionate world. 💛
