🍂 A little Labor Day reset! 🍂

The Back Yard will be CLOSED September 3rd–7th as we take a few days off to rest, recharge, and reset before our fall calendar kicks into full gear. ☕️🎨🍁

I’ll miss seeing all of you over the long weekend, but I’m looking forward to coming back refreshed and ready for a VERY fun fall at The Back Yard.

Thank you for giving me a chance to catch my breath. 🤎

Day 13 of painting 30 butterflies.

Shoutout to Patty Trowbridge for suggesting a Dolly color palette as a tribute to the queen of rainbows and butterflies 🦋🌈

Fun fact, I am named after Julia Roberts’ character, Shelby, from Steele Magnolias. Yes, she died. 😆 (in a wild plot twist, my mom had a kidney transplant…not from me though. Imagine the irony if it had been my kidney! 🤷🏼‍♀️)

Anyway, I loved this color palette. I might do another one later on. TBD.

Day 11 of painting 30 butterflies. 🦋🌈

I SAW A REALLY RARE (in Iowa) SNAKE. On the appropriately named Heart of Iowa Nature Trail. Sightings of them are to be reported to the Iowa DNR, so the ride took me a bit longer than usual as I had to make an email pit stop to send pictures and locations. It was a pretty cool sight! 🐍

I also painted another rainbow butterfly. I’m pretty sure it’s my favorite one so far (until tomorrow’s becomes my favorite 😬😆)

19 down! 11-ish to go! ✨

I was pretty sure flight night was going to prevent me from finishing these up today, but I was able to sneak in a reveal at 4:55 (I open at 5 😆🤷🏼‍♀️)
