So you wanna know why it’s called The Bagel? Brenda will tell you.

Ruth and Eddie Wolf came to Chicago from Germany after surviving the Holocaust. They didn’t have much money, but they had a restaurant — and a perfectly good sign that said The Bagel Factory.

So what did they do? They cut off “Factory.”

A perfectly good sign! Why should you buy another one?

And just like that, The Bagel had a name.

More than 75 years later, we’re still here. Same name. Still feeding Chicago.

Sometimes you make history. Sometimes you’re just trying to save a few dollars. ❤️
