Serving the cuisine and flavor of our country since 1990, this has been the ultimate dream turned reality for our family. We feel fortunate to have the unique opportunity to share a wide sample of our traditional home-cooked foods to the Chicago-land area. Whether you are dining in, carrying out or catering, we hope that your entire experience proves to be “pura vida” which means literally pure life in Costa Rica. We are home of the original oatmeal shake! Our recipe is unique to our family and has been passed down through the generations. The most popular item on our menu is Casado, which means “married”. It’s an authentic Costa Rican dish that marries white rice, black beans, sweet plantains, cabbage salad with either thin rib eye steak, chicken breast or tilapia, topped with an over easy egg.

We had an absolute blast visiting the talented culinary students at North-Grand High School, led by our very own Chef Joel Navarro, we taught the students how to make authentic, homemade Arroz con Pollo. From mastering the sofrito to getting the seasonings just right, these students brought incredible energy and passion to the kitchen.

Born and raised in the Dominican Republic, Richard came to Chicago five years ago and built something new from scratch. Now he's part of our family, and trust us, you can feel it the moment he's around.
