Hearing the rumors about the Chicago Bears possibly leaving Chicago felt a little sad. We met working in hospitality at Soldier Field.

We don’t know all the details behind any of those decisions, but it did get us thinking, why do we assume everything has to be shiny and new to be better ?

Maybe we’re biased, we love old things. Old places, old stories, old memories… and yes, our Chicago Bears too.

Join us this Wednesday, June 10th, at Antique Taco Bridgeport as we kick off our first Food Truck Night of the season. We’ve invited some of our favorite food truck friends, DJ Pete will be spinning tunes, and we’ll be serving tacos and drinks!

Wicker Park has always fought hard for its local businesses 💪

We live in a changing world, but where we spend our time and money still matters. And this neighborhood doesn’t mess around when it comes to protecting the people and places that make it special.

When chains start planting themselves next to independent spots, your voice matters. Thank you Kit for continuing to speak on this topic, and most recently Bill from Bro Bagel + Piece Brewery for using your voices and refusing to stay silent.

A few months back we made our “Keep Your Tacos Local” shirts as a reminder to support small and local whenever you can. That message feels even more important now.

The taco chains choosing to move into neighborhoods filled with independently owned restaurants is upsetting. Take your chains downtown don’t mess with our neighborhoods.

Support the places that know your order, sponsor community events, survive the winters, and stay standing through the hard seasons. That’s the heart of Wicker Park.
