We are a cozy, family-owned restaurant on Armitage in Chicago. Come with a date, a big group, or dine solo at our beautiful bar. Many of our dishes are family recipes that have been passed down through generations. Summertime brings a delightful setting in our sidewalk patio.

A year ago today, we closed our doors.

Hard to believe it’s been a whole year… 30 years of memories, growth, and moments that shaped me.

My life has changed, but my heart is full, remembering every moment, and the joy of it all still lingers.

Here’s to remembering the past, celebrating what was, and carrying it forward with gratitude. ✨

How are you doing?

It’s been years since we closed Tarantino’s, and we still miss you all so much. This time of year was always the start of patio season 🌿 I’d be out there planning the flowers, getting every little detail ready to welcome you back.

Now it feels a little quiet… but those memories never really leave.

Thinking maybe I should just paint myself on the wall so you can still stop by, say hi, and keep me company anytime 😉

What do you think… should I make it permanent? 😏

I still remember Valentine’s Day 1995, the day we first opened Tarantino’s. Last year we marked 30 years—and even though the doors are closed now, the memories are alive.

My mother Grace, 100% Irish, spent countless hours in the kitchen learning Italian recipes from my grandparents. Her love and laughter were part of every plate, every smile, every success from JimnJohnny to Tarantino’s.

Walking through the neighborhood, I still run into people who remember those nights, those meals, those stories. Thirty years of love, food, and community—etched in every corner of my heart.

Happy 31st, Tarantino’s. Thank you to everyone who was part of this journey. 💛

Merry Christmas, everyone 🎄

During this season, my heart is filled with memories. For many years, the restaurant wasn’t just a place of work—it was a place of warmth, laughter, and connection. I loved decorating for every holiday and creating a cozy space where familiar faces walked in, guests became regulars, and regulars became friends.

Even though Tarantino’s is no longer there, it will always live on through the memories, friendships, and moments we shared together. I truly miss those moments—being there to say hello, to share a smile, and to celebrate the season together. You are all still very close to my heart.

I miss you all and hope this holiday brings you peace, joy, and beautiful moments with your family and loved ones.

The end of an era. Tarantino’s and Jim N Johnny’s have been a part of my life for over 40 years—I built this from the ground up, and it’s my baby. Leaving is incredibly hard, but the memories, the friendships, and the amazing neighbors who became family will stay with me forever. No words can truly express how I feel. THAK YOU from the bottom of my heart.

Let’s make our last day the best one yet! Celebrate together and end this journey on a high note.
