Meet the family behind Real Roots Café!

We’re Matthew and Tiffany Lake, proud Chattanooga natives raising our family right here in the community we love. Along with our children, Cali and Pierson, we’ve built Real Roots Café around the values we grew up with—good food, hard work, hospitality, and bringing people together around the table.

Everything we serve is made with care using real ingredients, prepared from scratch, and sourced locally whenever possible. Whether you’re stopping in for breakfast, coffee, a smoothie, a panini, loaded nachos, a burrito, or a cold beer, our goal is simple: serve food that tastes great and makes you feel good.

Real Roots is a place where families gather, friends catch up, kids are always welcome, and everyone can find something they enjoy. We believe food doesn’t have to be complicated—just fresh, flavorful, and made with intention.

| GRILLED PIMENTO CHEEZE PANINI |

You know we love plant based foods around here, but this is one of our favorites. House made “pimento cheese” on local sourdough with tomatoes, romaine, micro greens, and vegan mayo. It’s only 10am and all we can think about is lunch. Feel good about what you eat! Health made easy, right here in Chattanooga.

| ZESTY KALE SALAD |

Ok ok, we heard your pleas and the Zesty Kale has been moved from the “Fall Menu,” and onto the specials menu where it remain for a while. We know it’s the bomb.com (yes that’s a classic 90s term) so we want to make sure you can snag it whenever you like. Chopped kale doused in our house zesty kale dressing then topped with carrots, roasted root veggies, our house vegan feta, sliced Granny Smith apples, toasted pecans, and dried cranberries. This thing packs a punch, a flavor punch that is. Come see how food should be!
