It was built by a local and prosperous farmer named Rufus Rigdon. Rigdon chose an idyllic spot with the Santa Rosa Creek nearby and beautiful views of the Cambria Pines. After Mr. Rigdon enjoyed his time at 4022 Burton Drive, an English couple acquired the property. They built the building next door in 1975 and ran a very successful restaurant for a number of years. Eventually, the two buildings w

ere transformed into an iconic Cambria Hotel to what is now known as The Rigdon House. While maintaining the warmth and charm of the historical building, twelve spacious suites welcome guests to relax and enjoy a blissful getaway in true comfort, offering a comfortable and unforgettable retreat. Our suites are well-appointed with every detail to make your stay a perfect dream. Located conveniently between Los Angeles and San Francisco, Cambria is a thriving but never crowded coastal community. The town of Cambria offers beautiful, rugged beaches and coastlines, a vast network of hiking trails, a quaint village with specialty shops, art galleries, gourmet and casual dining and of course wine tasting. The Rigdon House invites you to enjoy all that the Central Coast has to offer. Tour the Hearst Castle, go wine tasting, at a local place in Cambria, Fermentations or go into Paso Robles and enjoy their wine country. Experience the Elephant Seals as you go up the north coast and hike Big Sur, or take a tour of our Piedras Blancas Light Station. Or you can simply enjoy the gracious hospitality found here at The Ridgon House. Many of Cambria's attractions are a short stroll from The Rigdon House, where guests can easily experience the charm and relaxing atmosphere of Cambria's Historic East Village.
