Bay Area-based Balkan Ensemble Merkalii with Rumen "Sali" Shopov brings high-energy Balkan and Romani dance tunes that will pick you up and spin you around.

Ivan Velev opens with tapan and kaval joined by Hector Bezanis on Bulgarian gaida. And closing out the night — Édessa, one of the Bay Area's most beloved Balkan folk dance bands, comes out of retirement for a rare, special one-night reunion performance.
