Unfortunately do to staffing, we won’t be open today.
Below is a wall of b**r celebrating the country we live in. I remember where I was on 9/11. It was 3rd grade and we were pulled into the gym while we waited for our parents to pick us up. The old tv on the rollers from the AV room was brought in and we all watched as we were attacked. Teachers were crying and I had no idea what was going on.

My parents explained what was happening and I was scared but not truly knowing why. I began to understand over the coming years.

My dad, SSG Hill 80th General Support Group Da Nang Vietnam 1971-1974 explained to me year and year again, what war can do as he had seen first hand. Because of those attacks I had been thrown into a world of questioning. My dad and his service became a very special interest of mine. In 2005 on the 4 year anniversary, I donned my fathers uniform (what was left as he had discarded almost everything from that time after his return to Albany New York where he was ordered not to wear his uniform in public out of fear for our armed forces safety in the United States) and I stole the American flag from the front of our home and I walked our neighborhood. My parents had no clue where I had gone. Neighbors were coming to their front doors, crying and clapping. This was one of the first times I saw my father cry. We were late to church that morning as my parents drove the neighborhood to find me.

No matter your stance on war, the men and women in their uniforms deserve our respect. Respect many didn’t receive just 30 years before. For some, their service wasn’t a choice.

Having been a first responder, my heart is with the families who lost loved ones dedicated to protecting and serving in all aspects of services.

Now that school is in and the shenanigans on the sidewalk are almost complete, we are back to the normal swing of things! Grab N’ Go meals are coming back and Bri and I have some very exciting things planned!
