It was one year ago today that we first opened our doors to you, Athens!!!! AND IT HAS BEEN A MAGIC CARPET RIDE EVER SINCE!!!!!

Thank you all so much for your warm welcome and wonderful patronage over this past spin 'round the sun. WE APPRECIATE YOU SO MUCH!!!!!

Before we opened, It wasn't clear whether Athens was hungry for a funkaledic cyberpunk post-futurist underground neon arcade bar--but it turns out, y'all were clamoring for it!

So come on in today, and wish us a happy birthday!

We've got a couple of events to celebrate this milestone: from 2:30-5:30 all patrons under the age of 18 will get one half hour free for every one half hour paid, a matching program sponsored by Central Avenue Church!

And all day long, we're going to have a receipt raffle--write your name and phone number on the back of your receipt from today's visit, throw it in our prize bowl, and one lucky winner will be selected to win a $50 gift card!!

ATHENS THANK YOU SO MUCH YOU ARE AWESOME!!!! XOXO

In 1982, Sega had the courage to ask: "what if a penguin's igloo home was invaded by mythical Sno-bee creatures, and the only way the penguin could fight back is by shoving blocks of igloo ice at the marauding invaders, AND, what If instead of wearing a tuxedo, the penguin is wearing a bowtie and a dicky?"

And so it was that Pengo was born! This is an INCREDIBLY cute game that combines mazes, strategy, and adorability all in one sweet little package. It's as charming as it is addictive.

Pengo never quite became a smash arcade hit, mainly because Sega was just figuring out the US market at the time, and didn't really have the resources to promote and promulgate the game like it deserved. Nonetheless, amongst collectors and those who remember, Pengo is warmly beloved.

So come meet Pengo, and fall in love with this little charmball as you help save his home from the awful terrible no good Sno-bees!!!

FALL PINBALL LEAGUE IS STARTING MONDAY!!!!

All skill levels welcome! Pinball League is all about slapping the silverball around while making new friends and seeing old ones. THE PRIMARY OBJECTIVE IS GOOD TIMES.

We'll be starting Monday, September 14th, at 6:30 p.m. and will run through November 30th. It's okay if you can't make it every week--you can always catch up on the objectives the following week!

$20 for season dues, and then $10 venue entry fee for every league night (which is a pretty good deal considering you usually end up getting about 2-2.5 hours of pinball in).

The format is Pinbowling (curious as to the specifics of that? Answers are just a Google away!). We will also have an optional Team challenge league component each week as well. Split flipper fun ftw!

UNPLUG FROM CYBERSPACE AND COME HAVE FUN IN MEETSPACE.
