We are closed this Friday October 23 for some team fun!

We’re back to our regular opening times next week, as well as our Saturday Fika on October 31, 11-15.

Pictured above is the only team picture that includes all four of us, taken moments after Gabbi absolutely dominated everyone in bowling last year.

We’ve made a very limited merch run of black coffee black metal hats to accompany our latest dark roast release.

Only 25 ever made and our designer Eli Vestergaard hates that we made them. Get them while they last!

Our version of a Swedish ”mellanrost”.

This coffee came to us through collaboration with a few of our wholesale friends in Gothenburg. Much like us they did not want to compromise in quality or sustainability while supporting small-holder producers. But their customers asked for something more ”familiar” and bold to finish off their meal.

Together we started looking for a coffee from a family estate in Brazil. Next, we tried roasting it different than usual. Longer total time. Darker end temperature than our filter roasts, lighter than our espressos.

The result? Our version of Swedish ”mellanrost”: A coffee that we gladly share with friends and family who want the familiarity of a profile they know and love, while also enjoying the comfort of knowing their coffee was grown in healthy soil, by people caring for their produce and getting paid for their labour.

Rather than hiding it away as a ”white label” for wholesale, we decided to make it available for everyone. To make it clear that it’s a bit different from our usual filter roasts, we’ve been using a little ”metal” sticker with DARK written on it. Stay tuned for some very limited black metal merch…

Introducing Juan Carlos Osorio and his beautiful washed Tabi.

We’ve been working with this lovely coffee for a few weeks now and we’re loving it. Juicy and sweet with notes of candied orange and peach, a perfect cup for the approaching summer.

This coffee is a story of persistence and the will to build something of your own. Don Juan Carlos Osorio started working on his family farm at a young age, building his relationship with the land in Tarqui.

At just 19 he was married and had a newborn child. With a young family to support, he felt a need to forge his own path and build a stable future. As he left his parent’s farm, he worked himself up to manager at farms in Pitalito and El Pital. This allowed him to learn and deepen his knowledge of agriculture, while his desire for something of his own grew.

When he returned home he bought a small plot of land but continued to work on neighbouring farms to sustain his family and to invest in his dream. The land he bought was overgrown scrubland, so clearing it to prepare for farming was slow and hard. To prepare the soil, he started planting green beans and tomatoes.

When the time finally came to plant coffee, it was under difficult conditions. His land is located in an area that is hard to access, with a steep slope. Several times the heavy rains have triggered landslides that put his production at risk.

Despite all this, he has not given up. In many ways, the hardships and challenges have reinforced his commitment to the land, his family, and his determination to produce quality coffee.

We are very proud to be able to share this one with you. Enjoy!

Monday, and we are finally back to regular business hours!

Come down to the docks between 8 and 16 and sit down with a treat of your choice. We’re currently working with pairs to choose from: Two different cookies, espresso roasts, batch brews and now also two coffees for pour over.

We’ve been experimenting for some time, trying different methods, filters and styles and we finally ended up with the trusty Hario V60. In our humble opinion it turned out to be the most consistent and easy to replicate, while also having the best balance between brightness and sweetness.

Each week Hannes and Moa picks out new coffees for the bar. Come down and find your favourite!

We’ve made some real improvements to our little shed by the docks.

New doors and windows to let more of our spectacular view and the natural light in.

We’ve also built a separation between the shop and the roastery which is basically noise proof. So now you can enjoy your fika without having to listen to us roast.

We’re open Monday to Friday, 8-16 as usual. As well as this Saturday April 25, 11-15. Come check it out!
