Ever wonder why we call it “The Villa” ?

Our name comes from the beautiful old villa that has stood at 14 Whitby Way, Wakefield, for more than a century.

Built in 1910 by the McPherson family, a prominent local building family, the house was originally a private home. Over the years it became an antique/ tea cafe shop before eventually becoming the home of The Villa Café.

Today, we’re proud to give this historic Wakefield building a new chapter — welcoming locals, travellers and cyclists through its doors for good coffee, homemade food and a little bit of history since over 9 years now :)

We’re pleased to let everyone know that The Villa Café is NOT affected by tomorrow’s planned power outage and will be open as usual. 😊

So if you’re looking for your morning coffee, breakfast, lunch, or just a warm place to catch up with friends, we’ll be here ready to welcome you.

We feel very fortunate to have escaped the outage and look forward to seeing you tomorrow!
