Are you an early riser who cares about coffee? We’re looking for an enthusiastic Opening Barista to join the team at our busy cafes.

This is a key role that sets the tone for the entire day, so we’re looking for someone who takes pride in their craft and enjoys creating a great experience for every customer.

To be successful, you need to:
• Love early mornings and be ready to hit the ground running.
• Consistently produce high-quality coffee with attention to detail.
• Be confident working independently and taking ownership of the morning shift.
• Have excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Take pride in presenting the café and setting the team up for a successful day.
• Bring a positive attitude and thrive in a busy, fast-paced environment.

I think the headline says it all…

The Central Otago stars shined a little dimmer last night with the loss of a great Kiwi legend. Along with the rest of the country, we have profound sadness as Sam was such a great human being, an advocate with an abundance of talent.

Whether he was enjoying a quiet moment to himself, or joking how “everyone ordered extra hot over a certain age”, or enjoying a “bloody good date scone”, Sam always did it with a twinkle in his eye.

There were also times where customers would want to snap a picture with him, or just introduce themselves, or just tell him how much they loved him in his movies…and, he would always do it and accept it with grace and kindness.

This journey of life is a learned one, and Sam, you have taught us a great deal on and off screen. From your cafe whanau, we’re sending our condolences to all your friends, loved ones, and family who are left behind to carry on your legacy.

Cheers to you, Sam. This one is for you…
