An update from the team at Mr Murdoch's.

Last night at around 6pm, a fire started on the roof of our building. It was contained and extinguished quickly, minimising damage to the roof. A huge thank you to Fire & Emergency New Zealand who were on site from Pitt Street in under 7 minutes, and to our Murdoch's team who calmly and proactively evacuated everyone safely.

We will keep you updated on when our doors will reopen once repairs to the roof are complete.

The firefighters did a seriously outstanding job last night and we were genuinely impressed. They are currently striking due to underfunded staffing and resources essential to keeping the public safe. We'd like to raise awareness to their plight and will be showing our support by signing the petition at https://direemergency.nz/. Please consider doing the same.

Saturday Bottomless is the move. $60 gets you a wood fired pizza, free flowing fries and two hours of gin, aperol spritz, palomas, mimosas and pints.
