SCHERMI CONTEMPORANEI has come to a close at Arena Pamphili, concluding a summer journey shaped by cinema, dialogue and shared experiences beneath the Roman sky.

Our final evening took place on July 14 with Gioia Mia, written, directed and performed by . An unforgettable closing chapter, enriched by the presence of the filmmaker herself, alongside producers and Ivan Caso, and by a work that has been celebrated at both the David di Donatello Awards and the Locarno Film Festival.

Over the course of this season, Arena Pamphili became more than an open-air cinema: it became a place for encounters, conversations and discoveries, where every screening sparked new perspectives and every evening extended far beyond the final credits.

With “La storia del Frank e della Nina” by Paola Randi we experienced another truly special evening, from the screening to the final conversation led by Pedro Armocida, in the presence of the director Paola Randi and actor Samuele Teneggi.

Next Tuesday marks the grand finale of our rassegna.
We will screen “Gioia Mia”, a film awarded at the David di Donatello and the Locarno Film Festival, in the exclusive presence of the director.

June 23 - “Familia”, directed by , starring

Following the screening at Arena Pamphili, we met Francesco Gheghi, actor in the film, for an intimate conversation on his journey between acting and directing.
From “La buona condotta” — his directorial debut, awarded at the Corti d’Argento 2024 — to his latest short film, “Blu oltremare, bianco perla e un pizzico di giallo miele”, recently completed and soon to be released, Gheghi reflects on a path shaped by curiosity and artistic evolution.
A glimpse into what lies ahead: the desire to return behind the camera, perhaps for a feature film, alongside a new acting project directed by Francesco Carrozzini, starring Sabrina Impacciatore and Alessandro Borghi.
“I recognize that, at the moment, my role is that of an actor.”
With Schermi Contemporanei, cinema continues beyond the screen through stories, encounters, and shared moments beneath the Roman sky.
