During our recent origin trip to Panama, we had the honour of visiting Kotowa — a pioneering estate known for its meticulous farming practices, diverse varieties, and exceptional terroir.

From their carefully tended plots at higher elevations, Kotowa produces coffees with remarkable clarity and complexity.

We’re excited to share two beautiful expressions from this legendary farm:

Grown from heirloom varieties 74110 & 74112, it’s a clean, vibrant cup that feels like a walk through Ethiopia’s misty highlands — fragrant, lively, and full of discovery.

There are moments in coffee when you close your eyes and suddenly you’re standing on a misty volcanic slope, surrounded by bamboo and ancient oaks.

This is one of those rare moments.

La 8721 comes from the legendary Las Lajones Estate in Boquete, Panama — a farm that has quietly shaped Panama’s specialty coffee story for decades. Planted in 2008 by Graciano Cruz (.cruz) in the “Bambú” plot, these Geisha trees thrive under natural bamboo shade at 1,970–2,000+ masl. The rich volcanic soils, cool mists, and long-standing organic practices give this lot an unmistakable sense of place.

Carefully washed and processed with precision, it delivers that classic Panamanian Geisha clarity: elegant lemongrass and jasmine on the nose, vibrant grapefruit acidity, silky floral notes, and a finish that lingers like soft morning light filtering through the clouds. Clean, complex, and full of life.
