A first taste of what’s to come…

Our new menu is coming soon, and we’re revealing the first dish: handmade egg pappardelle with a white w**e, cream and broccoli sauce, finished with truffle oil, charred almonds and Parmesan shavings 😍 🥦

You can try it on our specials menu this week. We also have three more dishes available as specials only, so catch these while they’re here:

There’s plenty to tempt you, from ham hock terrine and salmon en croûte to slow-braised short rib, a traditional turkey dinner and chocolate orange bread & butter pudding.

Available from 1st December right through to Christmas Eve, 24th December inclusive. ✨

A little look back at our lovely Windmill Inn. 📷

We’ve found these old photographs and couldn’t resist sharing them. The cars, the familiar stone walls, a roaring fire inside… and quite a gathering outside! It’s lovely to see the pub through the years and think of all the people who have spent time here.

Apparently, the tree outside was planted to commemorate the Battle of Waterloo. We’d love to hear more if anyone knows the story.

We do love our cars at The Windmill, and it was a pleasure to welcome the Lotus Group yesterday. A lovely collection of cars and a great group of enthusiasts - thank you for joining us!

With our large car park and welcoming pub, The Windmill is a lovely spot to bring fellow car enthusiasts together over good food and a drink. We also offer personalised set menus to suit your group and make your gathering that little bit more special.

We had such a lovely time welcoming the Bentley Club to The Windmill yesterday. Thank you to everyone who joined us - it was a pleasure to look after you, and we hope to see you again soon.

Here’s a little look at what came out of the kitchen: ham hock terrine with winter chutney and pickled wild mushrooms, twice-baked blue cheese soufflé, slow-braised lamb shank with colcannon mash and mint jus, and pan-seared chicken supreme with dauphinoise potato, Vichy carrots and a rich mushroom duxelles sauce.

Fancy trying something yourselves? The terrine, soufflé and lamb shank are all on our specials today, alongside a new dish from chef Tony, pan-fried sea bream. Come and join us for a lovely autumn meal.

We’re excited to welcome our shiny new oven to The Windmill!

While it’s being installed tomorrow, Tuesday 6th October, our kitchen will unfortunately be closed over lunch, from 12–5pm. We’ll be ready to welcome you for evening service as usual from 5pm.
