WE’RE HIRING — PERMANENT KITCHEN & CAFÉ TEAM MEMBER

Join the LA Café family and build your hospitality career with hands-on training in:

• Fresh food preparation and cooking
• Artisan coffee
• Pastries and desserts
• Gourmet sandwiches, brunch and daily specials
• Kitchen preparation, service and food standards

We’re looking for someone who is passionate about food and hospitality, eager to learn, reliable, hardworking and positive under pressure. No previous experience is required—we’ll teach you everything you need to know.

ROLE DETAILS

• Permanent position
• Five days per week, Monday–Saturday
• Two days off weekly
• Typical hours: 7:00am–4:00pm
• Occasional evening events paid separately
• Salary discussed with the successful applicant

You’ll join a friendly, close-knit team where everyone works together, supports one another and takes pride in LA Café.

A PERSONAL UPDATE FROM ME ABOUT LA CAFÉ ❤️

After four incredibly successful months, we’ve decided to pause our regular Thursday, Friday & Saturday evening service.

And surprisingly, it’s not because it hasn’t worked — quite the opposite.

The evenings have been heavily booked, often completely full, and the feedback has honestly been incredible.

The reason is simply SPACE.

Our kitchen is tiny. Thursday–Saturday are already our busiest daytime services, and then we reset the same kitchen and go straight into a high-end, multi-course evening service.

For me, that has meant 18–20 hour days.

After 27 years as a chef, I know the difference between making something work and making it sustainable.

If we had a bigger kitchen, we would absolutely continue. The customers, bookings and passion are all there — the space simply isn’t.

And I will never allow our food, service or standards to suffer just to keep something going.

All existing evening bookings will, of course, be honoured, but we won’t be taking new regular evening reservations.

BUT THIS ISN’T THE END — IT’S THE NEXT CHAPTER. ❤️

LA Café has evolved into LA Café Bistro, with a completely new brunch & bistro menu, bringing together five years of your favourite specials alongside exciting new dishes.

We’re also adding a new drinks menu and daytime wine list. 🥂🍷

And evenings aren’t disappearing.

We’ll be introducing special themed dinners once or twice a month — limited tables, exciting menus and absolutely no compromise.

Sometimes growing isn’t about doing more.

It’s about doing what you do best, even better.

When breakfast service ends and the lights soften, our little café transforms into an intimate neighbourhood bistro.

No crowds.
No rush.
Just one relaxed evening sitting where every dish is cooked to order by our chef, using carefully selected ingredients and the same attention to detail that has earned over 2,000 five-star Google reviews.

Whether it’s our Chilli & Garlic Butter King Prawns, Confit Duck Leg, Poached Smoked Haddock, Corn-fed Chicken Supreme, or our signature Slow-Cooked Rib Eye Steak, every plate is designed to be enjoyed slowly, with good company and a glass of wine.
