Do you care about your estate, your neighbours, or bringing people together locally?

We’re looking for local residents to become Community Connectors in our area.

You don’t need formal experience, just ideas, energy, and a desire to make your community stronger.

We can support you to:
✨ Run your own small community project
✨ Start a group or activity
✨ Bring neighbours together
✨ Build confidence and leadership skills

We’ll offer:
🤝 Mentorship and support from our Community Team
🏠 Free space to run activities
💡 Help developing your ideas
🎨 Access to resources and materials
📣 Support with outreach and promotion
🌍 Connections to local organisations and opportunities

Projects could include:
☕ Coffee mornings
♟️ Chess or games clubs
🎨 Arts or creative groups
🍲 Community meals
💬 Peer support groups
🌱 Gardening projects
🎶 Music, culture, wellbeing and more

The aim is to help local people to create welcoming spaces and stronger communities on our estates.

Dancing for Joy is a vibrant, feel-good session led by Winston Jean-Charles, designed to bring people together through dance in a relaxed, welcoming space.

Expect great music, guided moves, and plenty of room to simply enjoy yourself. Whether you’re a seasoned dancer or just curious to try something new, you’ll be warmly welcomed.

Joy is more than a feeling, it’s a foundation for happiness, wellbeing, and resilience.

At Elizabeth House, everything we do is rooted in bringing joy into people’s lives. Whether through the support we offer, our wellbeing activities, the connections built here, or the positive changes people go on to make, joy is at the heart of it all.

We see joy grow in moments of connection: with others, within our community, and in nature, in our Nature Gardens. After food and shelter, meaningful social connection is one of the most essential human needs.

A Harvard study spanning over 80 years found that strong relationships are key to living longer, healthier, and happier lives. Joy, connection, and community truly matter.

We were delighted to welcome last week, and even more so that he felt the joy that lives here at Elizabeth House.

We’re excited to be launching Open Door Hubs on the Highbury Quadrant Estate 💜

Starting this April, join us every Thursday for free food, advice and activities at Birchmore Hall, Highbury Quadrant Estate N5. Whether you want to take part, get support, or simply come along for a free lunch – everyone is welcome.

This project is made possible thanks to the generous support of Islington Giving, and we’re proud to be working in partnership with Help on Your Doorstep, Manor Gardens, Age UK, and local community partners to bring this to life.

Together, we’re creating a welcoming space for residents to connect, access support, and get involved in their community.

Today we were delighted to have had a visit today from where he met our wonderful Blue House Club members 💙

The Blue House Club is a space where people come together to connect, share a meal, and enjoy fun, social activities — and today was a perfect example of that in action.

It means a lot when leaders take the time to visit hyper-local, multi-purpose community organisations like ours. Spaces like Elizabeth House aren’t just buildings — they are neighbourhood anchors. Places where anyone can find a warm welcome, a hot meal, support, and a sense of belonging.

Every day, we see the power of community. Trust turns into friendships, skills, confidence, wellbeing, and sometimes even life-changing opportunities.

A huge thank you to our incredible members and team for creating such a welcoming, joyful atmosphere today ✨
And thank you to Zack and his team for taking the time to listen, learn, and understand the real, everyday challenges our community faces.

We’re proud to bring people together, especially at a time when division can feel louder than unity.

💙 A huge thank you to Islington Local Initiative Funding and National Lottery Awards for All for supporting and funding our Blue House Club Wellbeing Day – you truly helped make it something special.

Yesterday was all about rest, connection, and self-care. We enjoyed back and hand massages, nail painting, relaxed chats, calming tai chi, and finished the day with a delicious, nutritious meal 🧘🏽‍♀️🍽️

We’re so grateful for the support that makes days like this possible for our community.
