The Drovers Return Cafe Cafe open 9 to 3, but only for drinks & cakes etc. on Tuesdays Despite dreadful weather, the cafe was officially opened on Saturday July 16th 2011.

Formerly a derelict eyesore, owner Colin Ingle has renovated the building to provide a much needed community attraction. As well as the tea and coffee, Colin's menu includes breakfasts, jacket potatoes and afternoon tea. (For full details see the menu tab above)

There is indoor and outdoor seating, and the cafe is a perfect addition to Hunsbury Country Park. Families, dog walkers and ramblers alike can now all enjoy the facilities and pass some time with others in the community.

This story keeps popping up on my page.....but we at the Drovers are not asking for donations, but we do all we can to keep you the customer coming back and supporting us.
As Sir Alan Sugar quotes " you buy bananas for 20p and sell them for 40p" this gives enough profit to pay the rent and rates, wages of 6 or 7 staff, new equipment, all other bills and of course the lovely taxman.
After all of this we are going strong after 15 + years and its all down to our fantastic customers, my fantastic staff past and present and the great community that the Drovers has become.

This was given to Les Goodridge who has along with his football friends raised over £6k for Prostate Cancer charity. Have it checked guys.......

About 8 years ago the country park was open to all 24 hours a day. This caused litter- louts to throw their take-aways out of their car window late at night and the place was a right mess. There was often cars abandoned and even burned out.
Then the "Friends of the Parks" and the council arranged for gates to be fitted and the car parks were locked at dusk, and opened at
8.00am every day.........volunteers were kind enough to open/close the gates including myself who has carried out this every weekend. Now we need more to volunteer to help one or 2 days a week, and where you will not be known as the "Parkie" ...you will have the satisfaction of being a really useful part of the community and helping to keep the park clean and tidy for other users 😉.
