Independent businesses are having a tough time right now, and every local place that closes takes a piece of the community with it.

As a family-run fish & chip shop, we’re incredibly grateful for every customer who chooses to support us. This has always been about more than food — it’s the familiar faces, the conversations, and being part of the local community.

The price we pay our suppliers for cod and haddock has more than doubled in less than two years. We’ve done our best to absorb as much of that increase as possible, but as the year goes on we may need to review some menu prices. If we do, it will only ever be when absolutely necessary — never simply to make more money.

So this is simply a thank you. Every visit, every order, and every bit of support means more than you know ♥️

Wow—a ‘thank you’ really doesn’t feel like enough to be honest however…

Thank You to each and every one of you who visited us today. We know the wait times were longer than usual, and we truly appreciate your patience. We hope that once you were inside, you could see just how we were working to serve everyone as quickly as possible.

Secondly, to our incredible team—what a shift. You never stopped, never complained, and kept smiling throughout. We couldn’t be prouder.

A heartfelt thank you to both our amazing customers and the Fishnets team for making today what it was.

Wishing you all a very Happy Easter—we hope you have a fantastic weekend.

Good Friday (3rd April 2026) 😊

We will be pretty much following the same approach as last year:

🐟 Opening slightly longer hours than a normal Friday - this will be 11:30-2:30pm and 4pm-9:00pm.

🐟 There will be queues I’m afraid. We will however be cooking ahead on items such as cod to speed up wait times so try not to be put off if there’s a queue on arrival 👍

🐟 Were not taking pre-orders. Walk ins only.

🐟 Our small fish & chips (lunch time special) will not be available as per previous years.

🐟 Most of our menu will be available however to keep wait times as low as possible we may may have a few items unavailable.

🐟 We will have extra staff working hard but please be kind and understand that we only have so much cooking and serving capacity.

🐟 No small cod available - only regular or large.

🐟 Haddock available as normal

🐟 Our phone line won’t be monitored so apologies in advance.

Polite request - if you came into the shop on Thursday 5th Feb around 5:25pm, could you pop back as we didn’t receive payment.

Tall, slim, wool hat, short beard. We don’t want to post someone’s face from cctv as I’m sure it’s a genuine mistake.
