Release number four is here. We’ve been drinking it for a few weeks Paradox Design workshop and can confirm wholeheartedly that “Soft Petals” is very delicious indeed.

Thought we would launch a little side project with this release as the artwork was inspired by “everyday poetry” - you know those moments of beauty or serendipity etc that make the everyday into something special. If you practice observing it turns out you notice a whole lot more magic without even really trying…

I thought I would share the other photos taken on the same little wander as the label - and when putting this post together yesterday (too late to actually post) I realised it was exactly a year ago today that I took them (if you don’t think that’s spooky then I reckon you need this practice of finding poetry in your days EVEN more ehh?)

It’s our BIRTHDAY week 🎂 There’s Gesha on house espresso, billions of tasty things on the shelves and on the menu - we have not (in true Paradox fashion) organised very much of a celebration- regardless of aspirations to the contrary. But. Kat & Zain will both be in August 7th and there will definitely be a little something going on then 👀

Our main focus is super high quality coffee made super consistently, with a generous dose of curiosity and attention to detail, hopefully in a joyous manner for all - and then after that it’s puppies of all ages of course

We like coffee. It’s kind of important to us- up until about a year and a bit ago it was literally ALL we did at the cafe. So it matters to us that it’s really really good. Even when there’s a coffee we don’t like- we want to know that it’s because it’s not for us, not that it hasn’t been made well.

We also sell a curated selection of books

We work with lots of different roasters, and recently started going steady with Special Guests to select exclusive house coffees

We brew a lot of filter, so experience and interest in filter, flavour and various methods is important to us

We can be a little busier at times, so an ability to enjoy smashing through queues and keeping each other and customers entertained is appreciated

We often get involved in events or throw our own, and we’re always open to ideas too

A love for the industry and all its wonderful people, knowledge of roasters, favourite cafes etc is 💕

Marrakech by way of four really distinct cafes that we loved. There were a couple of others we had wanted to visit but honestly it felt nice on this trip to be amongst a small enough coffee scene to return to places we enjoyed more than once. To be clear this isn’t a list, and there is no order (aren’t those lists kind of silly?)
They do all have a few things in common obvs, super nice drinks, friendly people behind the bars, and they all just happened to be chill as hell (a welcome juxtaposition to the beautiful chaos and occasional torrential rain outside. .kawa
