It's the end of the road for Richmond, we tried, we fought, we lawyered up, but unfortunately no chance of getting the doors open again for us.
Thank you so much to all who supported us there and so sorry not to be able to bring you any more pizzas in Richmond, but Barnes and Putney are super close and we'd love your continued support if you have the time to make the trip to us there!

Meet Jake!
Jake grew up local to our pizzerias and never comes to work without a big smile in his pocket. He's been making pizza with us for a few years whilst he finished his degree in engineering, so he's a clever fella too!
All the staff have been raving about the Jake Special, a Margherita base with spianata, red onion, parmesan and oregano, with extra basil. I had to give it a go, it's great, and then I made him do a photoshoot with his pizza for your benefit...

Have you tried our latest special? It's a collaboration between hotbubu_food and Base Face Pizza, but who's the face behind Hotbubu?
Meet Juno, he has spent years as a musician and composer, just like me, before turning his passion for food into a career! Now he makes the most insane hot sauces and we're overjoyed to have got them on the menu.
This pizza has a sesame crust with 12 hour slow cooked Scottish brisket (halal) marinated in Hotbubu BBQ chilli sauce, pickled radish, Korean pear, spring onion and mozzarella. Finished with a sprinkle of Gochujaru chilli. We also have a dip made with the Hotbubu which is 🔥 🔥🔥.

Carbonara Pizza - crispy guanciale, egg yolk, pecorino romano, black pepper, mozzarella
In 2022 I was making a Carbonara for lunch at home and thought "all these ingredients would probably make a great pizza", so I kept some back and that evening took them into the pizzeria and tested it out. It was great.
So I put it on the specials board for the month, and people loved it. Great success. When the month ended I had some people still asking for it, but I'd moved onto a new special by that point.
A year later I was reminded of it and decided to bring it back for another turn in the spotlight. This time when I took it away, the complaints were less polite, the people wanted their Carbonara pizza, but I'd moved onto the next thing and that was that.
The next year in 2024 it came back again for it's third run on the specials board and that's when it started to turn nasty. Death threats, if you take this pizza away from me again I'll find where you live, if I can't have my Carbonara then what's the point of it all, etc etc... So I eventually had to give it pride of place on the full time menu.
If you've ever had to julienne 5kg of guanciale you'll understand why we were reluctant to go full time with it, but sometimes you just have to give the people what they want! Slippery stuff I'll tell you that for free...

If a tree falls in the woods and nobody hears it fall? If a pizza chef wears shorts and nobody sees they're there? Another of life's great paradox's...
I'm refusing to wear trousers in these temperatures standing next to a pizza oven, but everyone's teasing me about looking like I have nothing on below my apron. I guess we'll never know the truth, but what I do know is we're all glad this is the last day of this heatwave.
Thanks for continuing to come out and support us through the extreme temperatures, and please continue your kindness through to tonight, and most of all huge thanks to our lovely team for keeping everything going this week!

Capricciosa - prosciutto cotto, artichokes, olives, roast mushrooms, mozzarella, basil, tomato
It's a long list of ingredients, that's why it's one of the hardest pizzas to make well. I often ponder on whether it's a best seller because people see value in loads of toppings, or because it's really what they want, but when made properly it's a symphony of umami, a thing to behold!
Also... We have new artichokes which are (as I'm going around saying like a cockney fruit and veg seller) "four times the price and four times as nice!"
Same price to you though! Tempting eh? Both restaurants open throughout the heat with air conditioned customer seating, just don't leave the door open on your way in!

Courgette... The best a man can get
Our new special is out, and it's a celebration of the courgette! And yes of course anyone can get it, not just men...
Roast courgette & pecorino base, mozzarella, fried courgette, basil, parmesan and black pepper.
Inspired by the flavours of the great pasta dish Nerano, slow cooking the courgettes brings out their beautiful sweetness, combined with the tang of parmesan it's an absolute belter. To the point where last week when I was testing it I resorted to using the courgette puree for the base as a crust dip and it was epic.

Using some basic GCSE maths to do with radiuses, circumstances and most importantly (pizza) pi, I figured out that for double the price of a 12 inch pizzas, you get 2.3x the surface area with our giant 18 inch pizzas in Putney, mine blowing isn't it?!
These are only available in Putney (and Richmond when we manage to get some ideas when we might open again), Barnes unfortunately just doesn't have the space to make them.
I would highly suggest popping down to Putney tonight from 7pm for one, because I'll be bringing my trio down featuring and Seb De Krom to play some of the Sonny Rollins trio songbook in his memory, seems the stars have aligned for you if you've managed to read this far without nodding off eh?!

Friday night is coming.... And we want to say thank you for all of you showing up and choosing us for your Friday night treat! It means the world to see it!
The last couple of Fridays have been mental in Barnes and Putney, some advice as we approach Friday evening, if you don't want to wait for pizza, call the shop and pre-order, and come and pick your pizzas up before 6.30!
Please understand we're doing our absolute best to feed as many of you as possible, please remain kind to all our staff, please don't leave us 1* reviews for making you wait, do you really think we'd do that just to annoy you?! It's because if we were to feed you immediately, someone else who already ordered would have to wait!
Thanks in advance for your understanding, what we can assure you is that we'll make sure when you do get your pizza it'll be the best one we can possibly make!
