🥰🤩We are thrilled to be able to let people know the road has reopened🤩🥰

We would like to thank our customers for coming to see us whilst the closure has been in place and for their patience and understanding about our struggles with water, your support has been greatly appreciated.

Most of all we would like to thank Greater MancGreater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS)g to get this fire under control and at bay in these extremely hot temperatures on this challenging landscape, you are all amazing!

The moorland fire off Holmfirth Road in Saddleworth has now been extinguished, although GMFRS crews will remain at the scene checking for hot spots over the next 24 to 48 hours. Holmfirth Road (A635) has now reopened and issafe to use.

Our firefighters have worked extremely hard over the past few days to ensure the fire was brought under control, preventing it becoming an incident that caused more significant disruption to the area.

Please continue to follow advice, be vigilant, and consider the impact on the fire service and other emergency services. Avoid using disposable barbecues, lighting campfires, using fireworks or other naked flames in open countryside, parks and moorland areas.
