At the Mill Kitchen we love food: its power to change your mood from bad to great; its ability to comfort, to energise and heal you; its role in the community; we love supporting farmers and tradespeople who make food in traditional thoughtful ways; and we love knowing what's in our food won't do too much harm to our environment - but most of all, we love eating it! ☕️ COFFEE LOVERS LOOKOUT 👀

🏠 If you love to brew your coffee at home (as well as getting it from us of course!), then this masterclass, hosted by the excellent team from North Star Coffee Roasters, is for you!

🧐 We’ll cover various aspects of coffee making at home, and some of the multitude of methods for doing just that. Think French Press, V60, Aeropress, the right grind, the perfect water temp and lots of other tips & tricks along the way from the pros! There’ll be a Q&A at the end too for any other coffee related queries you might have.

🚀 Spaces are super limited to allow a good hands on, practical session, and your ticket price includes a bag of North Star coffee to take home (their team will have a choice from their range available).

We defo agree on the Hash of course, but also it’s really kind when someone takes a moment of their day to share some appreciation for whatever it is you do! Thank you anonymous note writer - we loved it!

💚 We added Jem’s wonderful Four Twentea to our menu in April, and turns out you guys actually love it! It’s delicious tea with CBD. Check out their page for the many, many benefits!

🫖 You can sit and enjoy a cup of Naughtea & Mintea in the cafe anytime, or pick up a box to enjoy at home. We’ve also added their Tranquilitea onto our retail shelves too - perfect for unwinding after a long day (and really good with a spoonful of honey!)

🥐 Our bakery counter isn’t just for sweet things don’t ya know! We always have a selection of delicious savoury bakes in there too, to enjoy in the cafe or grab one to take away!

🥒 It’s going to be a hot one this bank holiday weekend, and we’ve got a new drinks special perfect for the weather! Our cucumber cooler with Matcha cold foam is super light and refreshing! Pssst the cold foam is vegan too!

🍀 We were lucky enough to get our hands on a side of Hot Smoked Salmon (their regular cold smoked is a staple on our brunch menu!). So whilst stocks last, we have this Hot Smoked Salmon, lemon cream cheese, cucumber, capers & dill on sourdough toast!

🤩 WHAT. A. WEEK. 🤩

🙏🏼 We’ve just closed the doors on what’s been our busiest EVER week 😮‍💨. Threads , our coffee cart out all weekend, catering for the Dyevolution launch party at the Sunny Bank Mills Archive, a private party for an amazing 21st, and of course our “bread & butter” of coffee, pastries, breakfast & brunch!

🎉 Within all that mix, we celebrated the work anniversaries of two of our longest standing team members! Our awesome GM Lorna who has been with us 4 years, and one of our amazing senior kitchen team James, who’s just 1 year behind that! You will have defo seen (or heard!) these guys if you’ve been to the cafe as they form part of the backbone of our unbelievably hard working team! Absolutely instrumental in delivering a week like this, and our day to day of course! We COULD NOT do it without them!

☀️ So at the end of a week of proper graft, a post of huge gratitude to all - our fantastic customers who keep us busy and smiling day in, day out! Our super hard working team who absolutely worked their socks off and, genuinely, did not moan once about it, and lastly to our Eurovision entry for giving us all a laugh 🙏🏼✌🏼🙏🏼✌🏼🙏🏼✌🏼
