Ladies and gentlemen, what a day at HTCC! The weather actually decided to play ball for once, proceedings got underway on time, and the Ingram Arms Cricket Team arrived with one thing on their minds…

TROPHY. 🏆

🎙️ MATCH ONE — INGRAM ARMS v WINDMILL

And what a start!

The Ingram wasted absolutely no time putting Windmill under pressure. Aaron Croft and Tom Clarke stepped up to the crease and calmly knocked off the runs…

WITHOUT LOSING A WICKET! 👏🔥

Comfortable victory. Job done.

🎙️ MATCH TWO — INGRAM ARMS v JACK HAWLEY

And it was déjà vu!

Another composed batting display saw Dan Greenslade and Dean Malton cruise through the target.

Two games. Two wins.

The Ingram were beginning to look rather inconvenient. 😏

🎙️ THE SEMI-FINAL — INGRAM ARMS v FLAREPATH

NOW WE’RE TALKING! 🔥

A HUGE, HIGH-SCORING, NAIL-BITING CONTEST!

Neither side willing to give an inch. Runs flying. Pressure mounting. And when the dust settled…

THE SCORES WERE TIED!

Couldn’t separate them.

Not on the scoreboard.

Not on the numbers.

Not on anything!

So there was only one answer…

🏏 GOLDEN OVER!

And when the pressure was at its absolute highest…

THE INGRAM ARMS STOOD TALL! 🏆🔥

Although the highlight of the regular innings has to go to Dean Malton’s spectacular run out, courtesy of Tim Ryan, who decided the obvious thing to do was push for a second run.

There were, of course, questions.

Was Dean actually running…

…or was he towing Wade’s caravan? 🙈😂

🎙️ THE FINAL — INGRAM ARMS v JACK HAWLEY

The group-stage rematch.

But this time, there was absolutely NOTHING comfortable about it.

Jack Hawley put up a much bigger target and the Ingram had work to do.

The pressure was building.

The finish line was in sight.

And then…

THREE RUNS REQUIRED FOR VICTORY.

Up steps TIM RYAN.

The crowd holds its breath.

The bat is raised.

The moment is here.

And according to Tim, there was only one thing we were about to hear all night…

“THAT’S WHAT I DO!” 🙈😂

…and unfortunately, swings himself straight back to the pavilion. 😂

The masses were… shall we say…

NOT PARTICULARLY SYMPATHETIC. 🤣

The lounge was full, the drinks were flowing, the BBQ was firing… and dignity was apparently left somewhere back in Benidorm. 🤣
