Kensington is getting a water main upgrade, and our tap will be dry from noon Tuesday to noon Wednesday.

Our animals are our top priority. We’ve stored plenty of water for them, so they’ll be perfectly cared for during the shutdown.

Unfortunately, we can’t stockpile enough for our guests, our baristas, and our very thirsty espresso machine. So the cafe will be closed Tuesday, Sept 15. Wednesday is already our regular closed day.

We’ll reopen Thursday, Sept 17 at 11am.

To make it up to you, the first 30 peach lemonades on Thursday are on us! 🍑🍋🍹

How to train your dragon, Mystik edition 🐉

Rule 1: Never rush a dragon. Meet “Gremlin” (crocodile skink) and our emerald swifts “Zella & Zillo”. Both naturally shy.

Rule 2: Tong feeding builds trust. Slowly, gently, on their terms. Humans = safety, not stress.

Rule 3: Keep the wild in them. Live crickets keep their hunting instincts sharp, because a comfortable dragon shouldn’t be a bored one.

Ethical care isn’t about taming. It’s about earning their trust while letting them stay themselves.
