Last week, we were invited to attend the award ceremony after being nominated as one of the Top 100 coffee shops in the Americas. We were truly humbled and honestly a bit surprised - when our name still hadn’t been called halfway through. We kept thinking, how could we possibly rank alongside, or even above, so many amazing shops on that list?

In the end, this was never about the ranking. Simply being included among such passionate and talented people means everything to us. This recognition is a reflection of our entire community - it takes a dedicated team and the continued support of our customers to make moments like this possible 🙏🏼

So this award belongs to everyone who has been part of the Fika team, and to every customer who has walked through our doors 🙏🏼

Thank you for your support since 2013. We’ll keep doing what we love, and try to do our best and we look forward to seeing you all again soon! ❤️

Last weekend was a whole vibe ✨ We hosted & .mo — co-owner of for her “Sip & Yap” event and it did not disappoint.

“Sip & Yap” is basically your safe space to spill the real tea on running a café ☕ From the wins and the L’s to breaking down the numbers and peeping industry trends, we got into everything for a solid 2+ hours. No gatekeeping. Just real convos, real insights, and a room full of people who actually get it.

Big shoutout to Monica for creating such opportunities where creatives, dreamers, and future café owners can connect and learn from each other 🤎

We’re grateful to say that our Swedish cinnamon buns are made in-house from scratch ♥️

When we first started out, we had two choices: order all our pastries from a wholesaler, or make them ourselves. We chose to make them.

Twelve years later - through all the growth, changes, and challenges, we’re still making them by hand in our small basement kitchen.

It’s the little things that mean the most. We’re incredibly thankful for our dedicated team and our loyal customers who make this journey possible every day ♥️

Filled with a fragrant blend of cinnamon and cardamom, each bun is hand-twisted and topped with Nordic pearl sugar before baking. Gently sweet rather than sugary, it’s the perfect companion to a cup of tea or coffee ♥️

These days my to go drink is the BLACK FOREST MOCHA 🍒🍫☕️
Introduced late last year at the cafe, think of velvety house made chocolate ganache, melted with espresso, a touch of cherry syrup and cocoa powder…and then your choice of steamed milk.. balanced and not too sweet ..💕
A great winter drink that keeps you going the rest of the day!

“välkommen till Toronto”
What a fun day to welcome a group of 40 Swedes who were in town to watch the hockey game in a typically quiet January. They were part of 2.5 hours international walking food tour and Fika was their last stop, perfect time to finally warm up with our gingersnaps and cinnamon buns! The cafe was definitely buzzing ☺️

Dig out day!
We made it to the shop and can’t remember the last time we seen so much snow in one weekend, probably more than 5 years ago at least!
As a small business it’s a tough call to whether to open on days like this, but hey coffee and cinnamon buns are essential right 😊?

✨ 10 years in ✨
Some things have changed for the better, and some things remain the same.

We’re still proudly making our pastries in-house from scratch, grateful to call eclectic Kensington Market our home, and welcoming everyone with cozy vibes and lots of love 🤍

Last year we launched and started roasting our coffee in-house ☕️😊

With FIFA world cup coming to the city this year and big changes ahead for Kensington Market in 2027 🦺🚜🚧, we’re excited, nervous, and hopeful - but most of all, grateful.

Whatever comes next, we’ll be here, your neighbourhood Fika. Thank you for 10 amazing years. Here’s to many more, love y’all 🥰
