From our RTH family to all of you; thank you for your support and love over this awful time. You words and hugs and love for Trev has not gone unnoticed. Now an absolutely heart wrenching update from Trevor’s Brother:
I am sorry to be the bearer of this sad update on Trevor’s situation. Unfortunately, Trev’s liver and kidneys have failed, and there is no hope of them recovering. He is now receiving palliative care at St. Joe’s, currently on 2East, but I am hoping we might get him moved to the palliative care unit so that he can be as comfortable as possible for his last few days. For the past week or so, Trev has not wanted to see friends, saying he’d see you when he’s better. Now that that is not a possibility, the family and I think you should come see him if that’s what you want. He’s very sleepy most of the time, so he may or may not even know you’re there. If you prefer to remember Trev how he was the last time you hung out with him over a beer or coffee, a sporting event, movie, D&D game, or however else you knew my brother, then that’s totally fine too.

Hey! A little update on Trev from his family. Trev and co have requested a “quiet” day so he can get some rest. If you were planning on visiting today (Friday) please hold off

Yesterday, the breathing tube was removed. He is able to talk! His speech is a little delayed and slurred but his personality and vocabulary are there 😉

Without any sedation, he’s quite uncomfortable. And with the progress he’s made, he was “shredded” (his word lol) As such, he had asked that he not have any visitors last night. I anticipate that he’ll continue to have moments where visitors may be turned away.

I expect a little progress each day on his journey to recovery. The Medical Team at St Joe’s has been nothing short of fantastic. Also know, he’s said several times, he’s committed himself to pulling thru.

Your continued love and support mean the world to us. It is also keeping mom, Russ and I going too ❤️

It is with a heavy heart I am sharing this on Trevor’s family’s behalf. Please keep our Trev in your hearts❤️… . Not being sure of good ways to contact all of the many people whose lives Trev has touched over the years, I am hoping that a post here on Facebook might help inform people from all of his many circles of friends, and if you’re seeing this, you might be able to take a step or two to contact other friends who aren’t Facebook users.

Trev was admitted to St. Joseph’s ICU on Saturday evening, and he is fighting for his life. He complained about “the worst stomach flu of his life” just before last weekend. I had thought maybe he was getting better when he texted me that, middle of last week. However, that illness may have exacerbated some underlying health issues, and at some point late last week, Trev fell asleep at his home, and presumably did not eat or drink for a few days until Saturday evening, when some friends checked on him at home after he didn’t show up to work. By that point, he was very dehydrated and malnourished, and suffering from internal organ failures. He very nearly died Saturday night.

He is a little bit more stable now, but the prognosis is still very bad. If he survives the next few days, he is sure to be in the hospital for several weeks to recover. He is sedated, and has a breathing tube. So he is more or less un- (or barely) conscious and unable to communicate. But I do believe he hears us when we talk to him. And if he improves a little, they may be able to reduce the sedation and maybe he will be able to respond to communication.

If you’re here in the GTA, it is possible to come visit him (I’ll post details about how in a comment under this). He may be getting something from hearing the voices of the people who love him. If that’s not a possibility, go ahead and post something here, and I will be sure to read it to him.
