Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal is sometimes referred to as the Florence of Asia because of its many treasures. The valley is surrounded by chains of mountains and seems like one big museum with a storehouse of arts, temples and shrines. The city itself has over 2000 temples & shrines. King Gunakamadeva founded Kathmandu in the 10th century. The name Kathmandu was derived from a temple within the

city called Kasthamandap, built in the same century. Kathmandu has become the Gateway to many tourists from all around the world. Kathmandu sometimes is also known as Kantipur. Here at Kathmandu Restaurant, we have aspired to bring to your table a menu that reflects its unique Nepalese culture and culinary specialties of Nepal, the Florence of Asia.
