Within the College dining community, Via Norte Restaurant stands strong on the corner of College and Dovercourt with elegance and only fine cuisine. Owner, Jose Alves, who is well known in the community for his fine culinary talent, has presented the dining industry with something fresh that everyone can enjoy. The menu features traditional Portuguese dishes incorporated with market fresh ingredients daily. With meals put together by the equiset executive chef Jose Alves, quality and only the finest dishes are presented. Every August, we take a little time to pause.

Not just to rest, but to appreciate everything that brought us here. The long days, late nights, early mornings, familiar faces, new friendships, and memories made around our tables.

This summer has been filled with hard work, laughter, challenges, and so many moments we’re grateful for. As much as we love what we do, we know the importance of stepping away, recharging, and finding new inspiration.

Thank you for being part of our journey and supporting our family year after year. We’ll be back soon, refreshed and ready to do it all again.

What an unforgettable week it’s been ♥️

From the honour of welcoming Cristiano Ronaldo’s family, to hosting Portuguese legends Maniche and Marco Caneira, Candido Costa, members of the Portuguese Football Federation, and so many incredible guests visiting for the World Cup, it has truly been a week we’ll never forget.

Sharing these moments, watching such a memorable match together, and celebrating with our family, friends, and community is exactly what Via Norte has always been about. Creating a place that feels like home, where memories are made around great food and even better company.

We are incredibly humbled and grateful for the overwhelming support we’ve received. Thank you to everyone who chose to celebrate with us and be part of these special moments. These are memories we’ll carry with us for years to come, and we can’t wait to welcome you all back again soon.

We also had the pleasure of welcoming football legends Maniche and Marco Caneira. Sharing so many laughs, stories, and unforgettable moments with them made the night truly special.

Our goal has always been to make Via Norte feel like home, a place where guests can relax, connect, and create lasting memories. Seeing that come to life with such incredible people is something we’re deeply grateful for.

Starting Monday June 15, we’re introducing a special menu filled with Portuguese snacks and tapas inspired by some of our favourite flavours from back home

From classic petiscos to share with friends, to exciting game-day bites, this menu is our way of celebrating Portuguese cuisine in a more casual, social, and flavour packed way. Expect familiar favourites, traditional recipes, and a few dishes you may not have seen at Via before
