it's a really special relationship to become friends with your bffs kids. especially as they enter teens

watching this very cute kiddo (still remember her 1st birthday) grow into such an intelligent, interesting, hyper talented, kind young woman - is such an honour

and getting to be an honorary auntie is one of my fav roles i get to be a part of

WHAT a beautiful trip to kick off 16 - and obviously loved being invited, prob my first 16th bday trip!

Highlights were abundant, but some favs

📸 being the photographer for N, I've never taken so many pics in my life that weren't food 😝

🏙️ walking around all the different neighborhoods and planning days around what the bday girl would like

🛏️ getting takeout and having a girly hotel night (always a must for one of the nights)

🍱 amazing birthday dinner Kyo Bar Japonais - will be back for sure! Such a fun vibe and uber family friendly

🍰 four birthday desserts including a very thoughtful room delivery from Fairmont Le Reine Elizabeth | Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth ! Thank you!

🍴 walking, shopping, chats without any urgency with my Cheryl Lynn Naomi

STILL SUMMER 🍑

im definitely one of those people that overthink everything, including counting down for back to school!

then I found out, kids are back the 2nd and not the 8th - WHATTTT

SO now, I've reminded myself 👇🏼

💛 it's still SUMMER, nearly 4 whole weeks left

💛 more veggies and salads and TOMATOES 🍅

💛 more beach and pool dates

💛 more friends coming for visits

💛 more mini adventures including Montreal and back home YYZ

💛 more concerts and random dinners out, for zero reasons

💛 more slow mornings, including sitting by the water

💛 more stoop hangs

💛 more strength building and making time for me

💛 more sunrises and sunsets

💛 more of everything

Going to relax my brain, back to school will come soon enough!

BIG thank you to Trish Cook, Charlie and Shawn for such a fun idea

The kids (and us) had a blast, and THANK you to community and all the friends that bought and donated to the kiddos

We always put money aside from bdays and Xmas BUT Shawn x Trish inspired us to also add a charitable component (which is vv important to me) to include B into donating young

We speak a lot about costs, how fortunate we are, those that are able to - give to others who may not be.

Also we have a vacation fund - that we always throw change and top ups at the eom

And then savings in Bowies accounts.

I wish at this age, we had had more financial literacy - even basics. But i can play the recorder sooooo 😝

HAPPY MONDAY ✌🏼 and well done to the two newest entrepreneurs

L O V E

L E T T E R 💕

this little date marks our 5 year anniversary leaving Toronto, and moving to the county

there's still so many times, I pinch myself driving home in an epic sunset

days at the beach, mere minutes away

visits at the store, from friends old and new

AND some of our fav memories ...

lots of firsts happened here

first haircuts
first day of school
first chickens

buying a car off of fb (that did not end well for me 😂)
so much water time

the most county experiences
building our own scarecrows
eating in pickup trucks
wineries and chickens everywhere
the best parties with locals and transplants

ALL OF THE FOODS
gardens
farmers
the amazing food scene with endless talent

adventures galore
opening Carte
girl gangs and support systems
meeting amazing new friends
WATCHING our kids grow up together 😭

lots of tears, joy and everything in between

WINTER. no comments.
getting literally snowed in for days.
i now know, when they say are you ready for the storm "BE READY" 😂

Also generators do not come inside.
Giving back, in every way we can with our holiday free store, donations and time

we know we aren't county, but the love and warmth we've experienced over the last five years has made us feel at home

there comes a time in every ontario spring, where you say F it and just wear summer clothes (on occasion freeze)

felt cute - one of my fav from 2 sums ago - Catherine was the first person who got me into green

ANYWAY. Zero point to this, except wear the cute clothes bc if you wear it - it will come 😆

this will be my 7th mamas day and not going to lie, I feel like I really worked hard for this one 😆

it's been a year.
no details needed but tested me as a solo mama, not in a bad way just its a lot.

BUT the best part that will always be the best part, is that WE did it and we always will

I've never been a "sugar coating" mama, parenting is fkn hard.

It's a little extra hard being solo 💯

BUT in spite of that, I get to be Bowies mama and he's my number one human and plus 1 FOREVER - and that is pretty amazing (even if he eyerolls me daily)

So happy mamas day to the ones that celebrate, that don't, that it's complicated, that are struggling to become and everything in between

And to the aunties and the maternal besties too, it's also such an important role

THE BEST 48 HOURS

Had the most amazing weekend with our dear friends and - then we snuck in a surprise visit with and Rubie!

Feeling very rich in love and friends.

💚 dance video parties with kiddos and the dance battles, the cutest

💚 finding a fellow swifty with Rubes

💚 eating our way through PEC (still thinking about that ham dish) and (always perfect and kids had the best time)

💚 chats and giggles and catchups, the four of us while kiddos are with our amazing sitter

💚 epic Easter hunt for Rubie and Bean, the bestest of friends

💚 little matinee Mario Galaxy 🎥 (it was pretty good) and run-ins with the crew

💚 strolling and shopping, and friends getting to meet our amazing friends of 20 years.

They all just left and Bowie and I hugged, had a minute and was like "epic Easter weekend"
