Chef Johnny’s Inspirations are here for the weekend.

This week’s features celebrate some incredible seasonal flavours, with Venison Rack, BC King Salmon and Lion’s Mane Mushroom taking centre stage.

Each dish is paired with thoughtfully selected accompaniments, including grilled Taber corn, confit potatoes, wild mushrooms, rainbow Swiss chard and more — all bringing a little taste of the season to the table.

And for those who enjoy a wine pairing, we’re suggesting a beautiful Château Cambon Beaujolais-Villages to complement this weekend’s menu.

Cowboy Trail Brewery is taking over The Bav for a special Oktoberfest celebration! 🍺🇩🇪🥨

On Saturday, September 26, our friends at Cowboy Trail Brewery are bringing their Oktoberfest festivities to The Bav Tav for one big day of Bavarian food, live entertainment and plenty of Oktoberfest cheer.

They’ve put together two ticketed experiences to choose from:

🥨 Afternoon Oktoberfest Experience
1:00 PM – 3:30 PM | $81.21 including Eventbrite fee

🎶 Evening Oktoberfest Experience
6:00 PM – 9:00 PM | $102.51 including Eventbrite fee

Each ticket includes an authentic Bavarian meal prepared here at The Bav, one Cowboy Trail Brewery beer, a festive Oktoberfest atmosphere and live entertainment depending on your seating time.

This is a special ticketed event hosted by Cowboy Trail Brewery and is separate from our regular Bav Oktoberfest celebrations, so if you want in on this one, you’ll need a ticket!

Dust off the lederhosen… Oktoberfest is coming back to The Bav! 🇩🇪🥨

Our Oktoberfest celebrations kick off September 18th and run through October 4th, with all the German flavours, festive favourites and Bavarian fun you’ve been waiting for.

September 26th - Our friends at Cowboy Trail Brewery are taking over for a special ticketed Oktoberfest event. Featuring The Rob Brubec Duo.Tickets are required for this date.

October 4th -We’re wrapping up Oktoberfest at The Bav with another afternoon of live music with Danilo Terra, good times!

So whether you join us for opening weekend, the big ticketed celebration on the 26th, or help us send Oktoberfest off properly on October 4th… there are plenty of excuses to break out the lederhosen.

We’re proud to be a sponsor of the Day of the Horse Festival! 🐴🍻

Around here, horses have always been part of the Bragg Creek story, so supporting a festival that celebrates them, the people who love them, and our incredible community was an easy YES for us.

Day of the Horse takes over Bragg Creek this Saturday, August 22, and we can’t wait to see town filled with horses, riders and a whole lot of western spirit. 🤠
And remember… if you ride into town, you can hitch your horse right here at The Bav. Because parking lots are overrated anyway. 😉

Chef’s Inspirations start TONIGHT. 🍽️🔥

This weekend, Chef Johnny is leaning hard into those late-summer flavours and we fully support his decisions.

Alberta Heirloom Tomato Salad with strawberries, white truffle and goat chèvre. Charred & Glazed Pork Chop with peach-speck potato hash, Taber corn and a rosemary-cola glaze. West Coast Halibut with house-made gnocchi, garlic scape pesto and you guessed it more glorious Taber corn.

And because good decisions deserve company, there’s a Noble Ridge Stony Knoll Chardonnay suggested pairing waiting in the wings. 🍷

Chef Johnny’s weekend inspirations have landed… and Taber corn has officially entered the chat. 🌽😉

This weekend’s lineup is all about those late-summer Alberta flavours, heirloom tomatoes, strawberries, garlic scapes, haskaps and, yes, that sweet Taber corn we’ve all been impatiently waiting for.

Start with the Alberta Heirloom Tomato Salad, then make the difficult decision between a beautifully prepared Venison Rack or West Coast Halibut.

We’re not saying you need to make dinner plans at The Bav this weekend… but Chef Johnny is making a fairly convincing argument. 😏
