Sheltered by history, warmed by the heart beneath. As rain gathers across the storied 19th century atrium, winter becomes part of the building's living theatre. Soaring columns and coffered panels frame a striking contrast, grey clouds rolling above, while the glow of Postal Hall gathers below.

Within the beating heart of the State Buildings the day takes on its own pace in the company of familial rituals. Plates arrive, conversations loosen, and the weather overhead becomes part of the charm rather than reason to leave.

Where balance begins within.

COMO Shambhala is guided by a simple but enduring philosophy: that true wellbeing is found through the alignment of body, mind & spirit.

At the State Buildings, this philosophy is carried through expert hands-on healing, where each treatment becomes a considered pathway back to balance. Facial care forms part of this wider practice — not only refining the complexion, but supporting the body’s natural state of renewal through touch, technique and therapeutic care.

From RATIONALE’s research-led treatments to Sodashi’s nourishing facials, each experience brings together modern skin intelligence and holistic wellbeing, allowing radiance to return from the inside, out.

A little Italy, amidst it all.

This August, Post brings the warmth of the osteria into the heart of the working week, with a two-course lunch made for those who know midday deserves more than a hurried desk meal.

Begin with plates to share — burrata with winter citrus, baked polenta with wild mushrooms, focaccia with roasted garlic butter — before moving into the comfort of pasta, risotto & slow-cooked ragù.

From August 3 — 16, the table shifts again as Calcio Italiano arrives in Perth. In celebration, Post will serve a special menu inspired by the regions of AC Milan, Inter Milan, Juventus & Palermo FC, from saffron risotto with veal glaze to duck agnolotti with Parmigiano fonduta.

Two menus. One month. Italy, brought to the table.

The Rolling Tides have arrived.

International Pinot Noir Tasting

A nose for nuance. Next month, the International Pinot Noir Tasting returns for its third iteration, bringing 18 wines from five countries into a blind tasting shaped by three discerning palates.

Julian Grounds brings the precision of Margaret River and Burgundy, now Technical Director of Stonier Winery. Philip Rich brings more than 30 years across wine retail, education, judging and writing. Erin Larkin brings a critic's global perspective, spanning Australia, New Zealand and vineyards further afield. Together, their voices guide the room through Pinot Noir's most elusive qualities, perfume, delicacy, structure, site and the quiet detail that reveals itself only in the glass.

Following the tasting, guests continue the conversation over a long lunch at Post, with further Pinot Noir poured at the table.

The season of Makuru, written in rain and fire.
As the first rains move across Country and scarlet banksia blooms, Wildflower turns to the season's deeper expression. Guided by the Noongar calendar, the menu draws warmth from land, sea and flame, native aromatics and richer winter textures.

From kangaroo with wattleseed to Fremantle bluefin tuna, line-caught snapper and Jerusalem artichoke with Manjimup truffle, each dish carries the weight of winter across Western Australia.

Amber in colour, restless in character. For the Orange Edition of the Wine Series Luncheon, Wine Merchant turns to skin-contact and gently oxidative wines, expressions where time on skins brings grip, spice, savoury depth and a quiet, almost sun-baked intensity. Neither white nor red in temperament, orange wines sit somewhere more provocative. Textural, aromatic and layered, they draw the palate toward dried citrus, orchard fruit, tea leaf, spice and the gentle pull of tannin. Alongside the glass, the menu leans into sun-warmed flavours and layered textures, generous without becoming heavy, composed to meet the richness and expressive character of each pour.

Truffle arrives by scent before spectacle: dark, savoury, elusive. Drawn from beneath the soil and brought to the table for only a brief moment each year, it carries the language of winter. Across the restaurants, this rare ingredient takes on new form, woven through dishes with a quiet kind of decadence. Shaved, folded or finished, each expression reveals a different side of its character, earthy, aromatic, deeply savoury.

Truffle season is here, for a limited time across the dining venues.

Cabernet Cartel – A Masterclass in Modern Cabernet

Cabernet, through a contemporary lens. Within the cellar, Cabernet is examined with precision, patience and perspective, tracing the philosophies and traditions that have shaped generations of winemaking. Within the discipline of tradition, sommeliers challenge convention and cultivate a contemporary expression of Cabernet, reframing its place in the glass.

This masterclass considers Cabernet not as a fixed canon, but as a varietal in motion. Led by Julian Langworthy and Rob Mann, two of Australia's most respected Cabernet specialists, the evening moves through 12 benchmark tastings from Western Australia and beyond.

Wildflower & Wayfinder Collaboration Dinner

Wildflower and Wayfinder come together for one evening, a collaboration shaped by shared reverence for Western Australia's native pantry. A dialogue between soil, sea and season. Stephen Thompson of Wildflower and Brendan Pratt of Wayfinder bring two distinct culinary perspectives to a single six-course menu, each dish grounded in place, produce and restraint. At Wayfinder, the kitchen begins in the ground, with much of its fresh produce grown within its own market garden.

At Wildflower, the menu moves with the Noongar calendar, guided by the rhythms of MAKURU and the land's quiet turn through the seasons. Distinct in voice, united by conviction, the evening offers a rare expression of true Western Australian dining.

Skies in motion.

Set against Perth’s vast horizon, this group exhibition turns its gaze upward — toward clouds as they gather, darken and break. Across painting, photography and sculpture, the exhibition traces the shifting theatre of weather, capturing the quiet tension before rain, the weight of a storm, and the atmosphere held within the sky above.
